Guide to Selecting C8203 and C8209
C8203 and C8209 are two main back end module to interface micro cameras from COMedia. C8203 has been designed to output HDMI signal and connect to HD monitor for video display. C8209 is for PC connection thru USB port. They are able to connect different sensor and LED configuration, therefore we have assigned different part number for it. Below is a detail list.
C8203D/M/H
- C8203DP: It’s compatible with muC103P/muC108P/muC110P
- C8203DL: It’s compatible with muC103L1/muC103L2/muC110L1
- C8203ML: It’s compatible with mCam101L2/mCamA10L4/mCam703L2
- C8203HP: It’s compatible with muC103P/muC110P/muC112P
- C8203HL: It’s compatible with muC103L1/muC103L2/muC110L1/muC112L2/muC112L2S
C8209D/M/H
- C8209DP: It’s compatible with muC103P/muC108P/muC110P
- C8209DL: It’s compatible with muC103L1/muC103L2/muC110L1
- C8209ML: It’s compatible with mCam101L2/mCamA10L4/mCam703L2
- C8209HP: It’s compatible with muC103P/muC110P/muC112P
- C8209HL: It’s compatible with muC103L1/muC103L2/muC110L1/muC112L2/muC112L2S
For D suffix, there is a chip OV426 on the board.
For H suffix, there is a chip OV428 on the board.
For M suffix, there is no OV426 or OV428 on the board, only good for MIPI camera.
Summary
If you only need MIPI cameras compatibility, then select modules with ‘M’ suffix, they are the cheapest.
If you only need DVP cameras equal to 400×400 pixels or less, then select modules with ‘D’ suffix.
If you need muC112 series cameras, then select modules with ‘H’ suffix.
