Custom Sensor Module with Cable: Ensuring Critical Characteristics and FDA Compliance

May 08,2021

Some customer asked why COMedia need to make his own sensor module with cable while OVT provided cable assembled sensor module. Nowadays, direct soldering wire to sensor ball grid is not an issue, many manufacturers can handle manually or semi-automatically. We don’t understand why OVT insisted to provide cable assembled module than sensor alone. In fact, cable itself is more important than soldering technique. First of all, cable characteristics is critical, it should be right impedance and well insulated, to prevent from interference to each other. Secondly, length of cable…

OCHTA10 – CameraCubeChip

Jan 28,2021

After few years waiting, we saw the chip at last. It is has 400×400 resolution but the size is same as OVM6948. OVT treats it is an upgrade of OVM6948, quadruples the resolution and keep the size. We treat it an upgrade of OVM6946, the same resolution but smaller size. The most important is, it is compatible to OVM6946 in register setting. Means, we can direct replace OVM6946 and plug in to the backend modules, no need firmware changes. Here is what OVT describe the chip. OMNIVISION’s OVMed® OCHTA camera…

muC802 & C8282

Dec 20,2017

muC802 is camera module based on OVM6948 which released recently. We developed a back end module to interface it, which provides USB output and displays images on PC screen. Images displayed in PC screen are little bit small, only 200×200 pixel, we make it 400×400 instead. Image is not good enough but if size is a matter, we need compromise. OVT claims this OV6948 as the world’s smallest image sensor. Measuring Just 0.575 × 0.575 mm, the Incredibly Small OV6948 Brings Industry-Leading Image Quality to Medical Applications and Beyond SANTA…

OVM6946 – 1/18″ Color Analog 160 Kpixel (400 x 400) CMOS Image Sensor with OmniBSI™+ Technology

Mar 29,2017

Omnivision has released a new image sensor of 400×400 pixel. We are making a camera module based on this small sensor, namely muC101. Below is the product briefing released by OVT. OMNIVISION’s OV6946 is an ultra-compact CameraChip™ sensor that brings high quality images and video with excellent color fidelity to endoscopes. The 1/18-inch sensor’s 0.9 x 0.9 mm compact package, wide field-of-view with short focus distance, and low power consumption make it an ideal camera solution for medical and industrial applications. Utilizing an advanced 1.75-micron OmniBSI™+ pixel, the OV6946 captures…
